The Jutlandic Afrika

Experience the African nature in our BOMA or one of our 2 KUBUKA´ER

A Boma is an octagonal wooden pail house in typical African style. The house is built on
wooden poles with a terrace which hangs over the Lake of the Mill. Without a doubt you will experience the feeling of being far out in the bush, as the house is situated in unique and beautiful surroundings.

The route to the Boma is made up of thicket along a  sandy jungle path, which was earlier a peat bog area. These surroundings make a heaven for birds. The choir of birds,  combined with the animal pen, consisting of the Inn’s grassing Lames, goats, horses and emus, complete this exceptional nature experience.

In the BOMA there is place for 20 hammocks, which hang from the large supporting middle pole in the house. Along the outer walls there are fitted benches, which can be converted to sleeping areas at night. The house is open at the sides, which gives you the opportunity to saviour the view of the nature, which surrounds the Boma. In case of rain or rough weather the house can be closed with the help of waterproof linen, which can be rolled down the outer walls of the house.

If you wish to spend a night in the Boma, the Inn provides warm sleeping bags, together with newly-washed bed linen. The Boma is fitted with water and electricity and in the near proximity there is a toilet building with a wash basin. Approximately 200 meters from the Boma is the Golf house, which also houses a toilet and bathing facilities. The Boma is furnished with African furniture and there is a fireplace on the terrace by the lake. The Boma can also be used for a party hall for max. 70 people. Enquires can be made at reception.

KUBUKA means good view, which is a given fact for the luxurious tents situated in the old beech wood. At the plateau high up in the trees, we have pitched a number of safari tents with a beautiful view over the Mill Lake. The tents are fitted like hotel rooms with a primitive toilet- and bathing facilities. Here you have the opportunity to experience the perfect African bush atmosphere.

The LEOPARD is for couples seeking togetherness. The tent is fitted with a double bed together with furniture in African style. On the terrace there is a large steel basin for a fireplace. There is warm bathing water, a toilet and electricity. The ZEBRA is spacious and well suited for a family with children as there are two tents. Children can overnight free in their own sleeping bags. The Zebra has primitive toilet facilities but no electricity or water. On the other hand there is a beautiful view with a foot bridge through the rushes  out over the Mill Lake. You could ´nt ask for a better African atmosphere in this part of the world. Lighting is produced with the help of oil lamps which create a perfect safari setting.

In our safari car “Africa’s Queen II”, which is situated beside the little bridge at the Mill lake, you can enjoy a light meal with a view of the sun setting over the Mill Lake. The African atmosphere is accompanied by our animals, which grass in our pens around our alternative forms of  overnight accommodation.

Our animal park consists of Emus, Nubian and South African Boer Goats, Donkeys, Lamas and Geese. The sound of the female Emu brings with it memories of jungle drums together with the scream of our Donkey stallion, which sounds like an elephant.  This underlines the feeling of being far out in the bush. Each year we experience new births among our animals and children and other overnight guest can take part in the daily
