Historical years of the Mill

 

 

1400 Confirmation by the Courts that the Mill is free of ownership, Regardless of the fact that at the end of the 13 century the Mill is owned by Niels Jepsen form Eskjær in the region of Himmerland.
1409 Peder Lykke buys Borbjerg Mill from The Knight Krag for seven silver marks.
1418 Bishop Peder Lykke of Ribe donates Borbjerg Mill too the Episcopal residence in Ribe.
1438 The Manor House of Landting overtakes the Mill
1446 The Episcopal residence in Ribe repossesses the Mill.
1533 The Mill is donated too the Manor house of Landting by the Church.
1688 Thomas Juul is proclaimed as Miller in Borbjerg.
1705 Jens Møller is copyholder at Borbjerg Mill according to note of 11/12-1705 with Kop taxes 2. Payment.
1743 Poul Møller is copyhold miller at Borbjerg Mill. He owns 100 rixs dollars.
1761 Borbjerg Mill is owned by Palstrup, with Niels Nielsen Damgaard as tenant. There is a good description of the Mill in connection with the County Councillors annual report.
1774 Søren Sørensen is copyholder at Borbjerg Mill and up until 1803 the Mill is owned by Niels Sehested from Rydhave.
1803 Just Thorning  buys Borbjerg Mill free from the copyholders from Rydhave. Søren Sørensen is the outgoing holder.
1838 Christen Skjærlund Damgaard buys Borbjerg Mill from the probate Court after the death of Thorning.
1872 Lars Christensen buys Borbjerg Mill from Damgaard.
1898 Niels Mundbjerg overtakes Borgbjerg Mill after his mother-in-law, who is the widow of the deceased Lars Christensen.
1919 Johs. Kobborg buys Borbjerg Mill from Niels Mundbjergs widow.
1931 A summer restaurant is opened at Borbjerg Mill.
1963 Lis and Jørgen Schrøder buy the Mill and convert the existing barn building to hotel rooms.
1972 Birthe and Hans Pedersen buy Borbjerg Mill and continue with the reconstruction.
1987 Esther and Carl Jensen buy the Mill and begin an extensive restoration and modernisation of both the Inn and the wings of the hotel rooms.
